- As per the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) data, operators generated gross revenues of Rs 652.85 billion during the quarter ended March 2023. These includes unified access service licence, unified licence, and mobile + basic licence holders.
- Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited reported the highest gross revenue of Rs 243.18 billion, followed by Bharti Airtel (Rs 215.44 billion), Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) (Rs 115.41 billion), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (Rs 73.32 billion), and Tata Teleservices Limited (Rs 4.74 billion).
- Circle-wise, Delhi emerged as the highest grosser with Rs 76.47 billion, followed by Maharashtra (Rs 51.9 billion), Uttar Pradesh East (Rs 47.58 billion), Andhra Pradesh (Rs 47.37 billion) and Tamil Nadu (including Chennai) (Rs 45.75 billion).
- The least revenue-generating telecom circles were the Northeast (Rs 3.35 billion), Himachal Pradesh (Rs 4.89 billion), Jammu & Kashmir (Rs 6.8 billion), Assam (Rs 12.93 billion) and Haryana (Rs 13.73 billion).
- As per TRAI data, companies operating in the national long distance (NLD) space generated total gross revenues of Rs 74.84 billion during the quarter ended March 2023.
- Vi accounted for 27.95 per cent of the total industry NLD revenues with Rs 20.92 billion. It was followed by Bharti Airtel (Rs 20.18 billion), Tata Communications (Rs 12.96 billion), BSNL (Rs 9.63 billion) and Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Rs 3.92 billion).
