• As per the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) data, operators generated gross revenues of Rs 586.65 billion during the quarter ended June 2022. These included unified licence (UL), unified access service licence (UASL), and mobile + basic licence holders.
  • Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited reported the highest gross revenue of Rs 228.25 billion followed by Bharti Airtel (Rs 208.27 billion), Vodafone Idea Limited (Rs 116.33 billion), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) (Rs 28.91 billion), and Tata Teleservices Limited (Rs 4.29 billion).
  • Circle-wise, Maharashtra emerged as the highest revenue grosser with Rs 49.36 billion. It was followed by Andhra Pradesh (Rs 45.74 billion), Uttar Pradesh-East (Rs 45.69 billion), Tamil Nadu & Chennai (Rs 44.12 billion), and Bihar (Rs 41.15 billion).
  • The least revenue generating telecom circles were the Northeast (Rs 3.3 billion), Himachal Pradesh (Rs 4.7 billion), Jammu & Kashmir (Rs 6.27 billion), Assam (Rs 12.04 billion) and Kolkata (Rs 12.9 billion).

  • As per TRAI’s data, companies operating in the national long distance (NLD) space generated total gross revenues of Rs 72.04 billion during the quarter ended June 2022.
  • At Rs 21.38 billion, Vodafone Idea Limited accounted for 29.68 per cent of the total industry NLD revenues. It was followed by Bharti Airtel (Rs 18.94 billion), Tata Communications (Rs 13.33 billion), BSNL (Rs 8.35 billion) and Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Rs 3.84 billion).
  • Meanwhile, companies operating in the international long distance (ILD) space generated total gross revenues of Rs 33.59 billion during the quarter under consideration.
  • Bharti Airtel recorded the highest gross revenue in the ILD segment at Rs 11.73 billion. It was followed by Vodafone Idea Limited (Rs 8.61 billion), Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Rs 4.59 billion), Tata Communications Limited (Rs 1.98 billion), AT&T Global Network Services India Private Limited (Rs 1.75 billion) and Verizon Communications India Private Limited (Rs 1.61 billion).
