• As per the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) data, operators generated gross revenues of Rs 437.35 billion during the quarter ended June 2019. These included unified access service licence (UASL), unified licence (UL), and mobile+basic licence holders.
  • Reliance Jio reported the highest gross revenue of Rs 139.82 billion followed by Vodafone Idea (Rs 128.67 billion), Bharti Airtel (Rs 128.44 billion), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) (Rs 26.59 billion) and Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) (Rs 8.63 billion).
  • Circle-wise, Maharashtra emerged as the highest revenue grosser with Rs 36.37 billion. It was followed by Andhra Pradesh (Rs 33.42 billion), Uttar Pradesh East (Rs. 31.97 billion), Delhi (Rs 31.72 billion), and Tamil Nadu and Chennai (Rs 31.57 billion).
  • The least revenue generating telecom circles were Himachal Pradesh (Rs 3.33 billion), Jammu & Kashmir (Rs 4.01 billion), Northeast (Rs 4.13 billion), Assam (Rs 7.75 billion) and Kolkata (Rs 9.55 billion).
  • As per TRAI data, companies operating in the national long distance (NLD) space generated total gross revenues of Rs 108.15 billion during the quarter ended June 2019.
  • At Rs 34.42 billion, Bharti Airtel accounted for 31 per cent of the total NLD revenues. It was followed by Vodafone Idea (Rs 33.90 billion), BSNL (Rs 16.06 billion), Reliance Jio (Rs 10.67 billion) and Tata Communications (Rs 6.01 billion).
  • Meanwhile, companies operating in the international long distance (ILD) space generated total gross revenues of Rs 27.77 billion during the quarter under consideration.
  • Bharti Airtel recorded the highest gross revenue in the ILD segment at Rs 13.22 billion, followed by Vodafone Idea (Rs 4.52 billion), Tata Communications (Rs 2.12 billion), Verizon Communications (Rs 2.04 billion) and BT Global Communications India (Rs 1.95 billion).
