- As per TRAI’s data, companies operating in the national long distance (NLD) space generated total gross revenues of Rs 98.37 billion during the quarter ended March 2019.
- At Rs 35.18 billion, VIL accounted for 36 per cent of the total industry NLD revenues. It was followed by Bharti Airtel (Rs 33.11 billion), Reliance Jio (Rs 10.26 billion), BSNL (Rs 9.56 billion) and Tata Communications (Rs 5.94 billion).
- Meanwhile, companies operating in the international long distance (ILD) space generated total gross revenues of Rs 29.28 billion during the quarter under consideration.
- Bharti Airtel recorded the highest gross revenue in the ILD segment at Rs 12.46 billion. It was followed by VIL (Rs 4.85 billion), AT&T Global (Rs 2.47 billion), Verizon Communications (Rs 2.18 billion) and Tata Communications (Rs 1.92 billion).
