The minister of state for communications, Devusinh Chauhan has told the Rajya Sabha that telecom operators, on an average, are installing 2500 base stations per week to provide 5G      services.

He added that 20,980 base stations have been installed as of November 26, 2022.

He also said that telecom operators are presently providing 5G services to their subscribers with 5G enabled devices at no extra cost.

Further, Ashwini Vaishnaw, union minister of communications, electronics and information technology and railways, added that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has floated the tender for requirement of 100,000 4G sites in October 2022.
