Telcos urge DoT to include the 26 GHz band in 5G spectrum auction, seek price from TRAI

Telecom operators have reportedly urged the government to include the 26 GHz band in the 5G spectrum auction. According to telcos, this will help in rolling out cost-efficient networks and price the services more affordably.

In this regard, telcos have requested the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to request the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to suggest a price for the band.

The operators have called on DoT to make a reference to the TRAI to include the 26 GHz band for auction along with other 5G bands such as 3.5 GHz.
