Telecom operators have reportedly called on the government to take into consideration the industry’s requirements including continuity of operations while deciding on participation of Chinese vendors Huawei and ZTE in rolling out 5G networks.

Telcos may face time and cost overruns in seeking equipment from alternative vendors, in case government decides to bar Huawei and ZTE from the 5G trials.

The industry’s call for operational continuity has come on the back of tremendous financial stress in the sector resulting from the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) related payouts.
