Telecom operators are peeved that despite the industry agreeing to keep Chinese vendors out of the process, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is delaying approvals for 5G trials.

According to industry sources, telcos are contemplating to write a joint letter to the DoT that it is free to approve or reject applications by telcos as they have filed trial requests with several partners, but should not delay providing spectrum and permission for conducting the trials.

Recently, government had reportedly decided to approve applications only from operators that are with non-Chinese vendors following the border tension with China.
