Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have paid up Rs 50 billion to the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) as license fee and spectrum usage charges for the quarter ended March 2021.
In the latest set of dues, each circle makes its payments depending on the revenue for the three months and although the final amount is yet to be added up by the DoT, the payments are similar to what telcos paid in last quarter.
Prior to this, Airtel had paid around Rs 16 billion in the quarter ended December 2020. Meanwhile, Jio and Vi had paid around Rs 20 billion and Rs 10 billion, respectively, for the same period.
The license fee and spectrum usage charges paid by telcos is 8 per cent and 3 per cent-5 per cent of their adjusted gross revenue (AGR), respectively.
