Telecom operators have reportedly pushed the deadline for business entities to register their SMS content templates.
The move has been undertaken citing inability of nearly half of businesses to comply with the regulation in the given timeframe.
Earlier, the deadline was January 31, 2021. However, no notice has been given yet regarding the new deadline.
As per industry executives, around 50 per cent of companies including banks, financial institutions and government agencies had not adopted the new blockchain-based system which checks the flow of spam SMS traffic.
