As per industry sources, telecom operators with pending adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues need to pay 10 per cent of the total liability by March 31, 2021, irrespective of the part-payments made by them.

According to industry estimates, all operational telecom operators are expected to pay Rs 129.21 billion by the said deadline. Of this around 80 per cent is owed by Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel. While Vodafone Idea has to pay around Rs 58.25 billion against the total demand of Rs 582.54 billion, Bharti Airtel has to pay Rs 43.98 billion against the total demand of Rs 439.8 billion.

This 10 per cent payment has to be made irrespective of part-payments already paid by the telcos. While Vodafone Idea has already paid Rs 78.54 billion, Airtel has paid Rs 180.04 billion in the past.

Likewise, state owned BSNL and MTNL, who have not paid any AGR dues yet, will have to pay Rs 5.83 billion and Rs 4.35 billion, respectively.
