KT Rama Rao, Telangana’s minister for municipal administration and urban development (MAUD), information technology, electronics and communications (ITEC) has requested the central government to hand over phase I of the BharatNet network to T-Fiber.

Additionally, he urged the union minister for telecommunications and electronics and information technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, to allocate Rs 12 billion for the BharatNet Phase II project. KT Rama Rao requested that payments be released in accordance with the initial memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF), Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL) for the implementation of the Bharat Net Phase-II project by T-Fiber for connecting gram panchayats.

Furthermore, KT Rama Rao requested Vaishnaw to consider the development of an electronics manufacturing cluster under EMC-2.0 Scheme.
