The Telangana government is awaiting approval from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for three semiconductor investment proposals. This follows the state government securing approvals for three electronics manufacturing clusters (EMCs) and one common facility centre (CFC) project, representing a total investment of Rs 17.78 billion, including central assistance of Rs 7.24 billion.

APACT, a South Korean company, has applied to the India Semiconductor Mission for an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test facility in Telangana, a proposed investment of around Rs 8.90 billion.

The other approved projects include EMCs at E-city, Hyderabad (603.52 acres, Rs 6.67 billion), and Maheshwaram, Ranga Reddy (310.70 acres, Rs 4.36 billion), as well as a CFC at Hyderabad Knowledge City (Rs 1.04 billion outlay) and an EMC at Divitipally Village, Mahabubnagar District, (377.65 acres, Rs 5.69 billion). Spanning to a total of 1292.87 acres, these projects are expected to create a robust ecosystem for electronics manufacturing and attract further investment in the state.
