
Home-grown telecom equipment maker Networks is eyeing big business opportunities in 4G with the voice-dominated telecom world moving towards data.
The company is into R&D, hardware and software writing, chip design, and manufacturing optic fibre transmission equipment. The company is hopeful that if it can leverage big domestic market and lower innovation costs it could quickly reach technology inflection points and thereby seize big business opportunities.
With 4G networks being rolled out n the country, Tejas Networks is looking at expanding its product portfolio. Tejas Networks is partnering with global companies by offering them services in R&D, building the products and sell it. Such partnerships save cost for global companies and gives Tejas Networks access to global markets. At the end of this year the company is looking is planning to launch more products and is looking at addressing about 40 per cent of an operator?s CAPEX from the existing 10 per cent.
The company is examining the option of moving from optical transmission to provide more services such as switching and routing and metro Ethernet switch. It is also looking at working in wireless technology.
