Tejas Networks has appointed Bhaskar Ramamurthi and P.R. Ramesh as independent directors, with effect from June 27, 2022.

According to the company, the appointments are based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the board and are subject to shareholders’ approval.

Additionally, Gururaj Deshpande has resigned as a non-executive director, effective June 28, 2022. He had been a board member of the company since its inception in 2000.

Ramamurthi was the director of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras from 2011 to 2022. He is a fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He is also an honorary director of the Centre of Excellence in Wireless Technology (CEWiT) and has also served on the board of Oil India Limited (OIL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).

Meanwhile, Ramesh was the chairman of Deloitte India and has more than 40 years of experience, having served as a member of the Deloitte Global Board and Deloitte Asia Pacific Board. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and has also been associated with several regulatory and industry bodies. Ramesh has extensive experience in working with clients in various sectors, including manufacturing, banking and financial services, telecommunications, media, and energy, among others.
