Tech Mahindra Limited has set up of its first development centre in Timisoara, Romania. The development centre will focus on networks transformation by leveraging 5G technology and state-of-the-art frameworks for key customers in Europe.

A team of 100 employees has been deployed at the development centre currently to manage different core, radio access network (RAN) and transmission network operations for Tech Mahindra’s customers in Europe. These network operations will be automated and transformed in the course of next year, using artificial intelligence and machine learning methodologies and technology solutions.

Commenting on the development, Vikram Nair, President, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Tech Mahindra, said, “With a booming IT sector, Timisoara is an important industrial, commercial and technology centre in Romania. Tech Mahindra’s new development centre here will serve as a hub for our European operations. It will further enable us to expand exponentially by riding the growth wave that the IT industry is set to witness in the next 3-5 years with the emergence of new technologies like 5G, automation, and artificial intelligence.”

The new development centre is located in Vox Technology Park, which is one of the most environment-friendly and sustainable campuses in Romania. This is in line with Tech Mahindra’s efforts to be a responsible business entity, by integrating sustainability into all aspects of the business and developing strategies for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) dimensions.

As part of the TechMNxt charter, Tech Mahindra aims to leverage its global expertise in network services to enable service providers and enterprises to lower their network total cost of ownership (TCO) and transform their networks with best-of-breed technologies to create new revenue generating services.
