TE Corporation has announced that it will provide China Telecom Z with its largest metropolitan intelligent fixed line NGN network. The commercial trial network will be located in Shanghai, which has around 10 million fixed line and PHS subscribers. It will mainly employ ZTE fixed line 3G@NGN solutions to provide enhanced calling services and data services. The solutions are based on industry standard technologies backed by ZTE’s own patented developments. The first phase of the intelligent network will be in operation by July 2006, which will include services like polyphonic ringtones, number portability and prepaid fixed lines.
