The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has reserved its order on the interim plea of Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL), which had approached TDSAT against Vodafone’s termination notice for disconnecting SMSes on its network, say news reports.
TTSL had filed a petition with the TDSAT against Vodafone on a matter related to termination of SMSes on its network. Both TTSL and Vodafone are involved in a dispute over the payment of fees for termination charges. Termination charges are paid by an operator from whose network calls or SMSes originate to the one on whose network these communications end.
Earlier, Vodafone issued a termination notice to TTSL asking it to pay Rs 1.88 billion as SMS termination fee by November 17, failing which it would disconnect its SMSes from its network. Vodafone has asked TTSL to pay a termination fee of Re 0.10 per SMS from April 2011.
