Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has upheld Reliance Communications? (RCOM) claim that it was overcharged by the public sector operators for its Home Country Direct (HCD) services.
TDSAT in its ruling has directed Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to refund the additional levies imposed on the operator for HCD services.
The tribunal?s ruling came over a petition filed by RCOM, which claimed that for the year 2007 the HCD services provided by it were overestimated and overcharged by MTNL and BSNL. In the petition, RCOM requested TDSAT to direct MTNL and BSNL to refund the additional charges of about Rs 3.83 billion paid by it to the two operators.
