The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has asked Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) not to disconnect Bharti Airtel from its network in Jammu and Kashmir, say news reports.
Earlier, BSNL had approached TDSAT to direct Bharti Airtel to compensate it for damaging its cable in the state. While laying its own cable, Bharti Airtel had damaged BSNL’s cable at three places in the state.
In its verdict, TDSAT stated that BSNL disconnecting Bharti Airtel’s point of interconnections would cause undue inconvenience to the operator’s subscribers. It has directed Bharti Airtel to pay Rs 0.3 million as compensation to BSNL.
