Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) has initiated the construction of a data centre aimed at enhancing the Indian Coast Guard’s digital capabilities.

This project, which is expected to be completed within two years, is being developed at a cost of Rs 5.88 billion in partnership with Yotta Infrastructure and Attero. It includes provisions for a five-year operational expenditure and a two-year warranty for hardware.

The new data centre will play a crucial role in connecting 109 Coast Guard offices and 88 ships through a fibre network, facilitating the automation of various internal processes, including finance, human resources, and operational modules. This marks the first comprehensive data centre established for the Indian Coast Guard, which will enable the implementation of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The initiative is anticipated to significantly improve decision-making efficiency and operational effectiveness within the organisation.
