Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) has applied for GSM spectrum in 20 circles, including the two circles in which Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited operates. The move follows DoT’s decision to permit companies with UASLs to deploy dualtechnologies. After RCL, Shyam Telelink and HFCL, TTSL is the fourth CDMA operator to apply for GSM spectrum.

Meanwhile, DoT has categorically told operators who have applied for dual technology that spectrum allocation will be based on availability. Applicants like RCL have already paid an entry fee of Rs 16.8 billion.
