Tata Sons acquires a little over 1 per cent stake in VSNL

Tata Sons, the holding company of all Tata Group firms, has acquired a little over 1 per cent stake in VSNL, increasing its stake in the telecom and internet major to about 5 per cent. The acquisition was reportedly in line with the Tata Group’s policy of increasing its stake to over 51 per cent and gaining a controlling stake in all its listed companies. At present, Tata Sons holds 3.64 per cent stake in VSNL.
