Natarajan Chandrasekaran, chairman, Tata Group, speaking at the Advantage Assam Investors Summit 2.0 in Guwahati, has announced that the group is set to sign memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with 10 additional semiconductor companies to strengthen the ecosystem.
Commending the Assam government for fostering a conducive environment for the semiconductor industry, he stated that the state has set a benchmark in this regard.
Further, he highlighted that the Tata Electronic Facility being established in Assam involves an investment of Rs 270 billion and will have the capacity to produce 48 million chips per day. He also noted that this will be the largest semiconductor chip facility not only in India but across Southeast Asia, generating over 30,000 jobs.
