Tata group to set up phone component manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, say reports

As per media reports, the Tata group is planning to set up a phone component manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu with an investment of Rs 50 billion.

Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) had reportedly allotted 500 acres of land to Tata Sons company, Tata Electronics for the setting up of plant. Titan Engineering and Automation Ltd will provide the expertise for this project.

As per industry sources, the plant will be used for manufacturing components for Apple in India.
