Tata Communications has launched an IT network and cloud computing enablement platform, IZO in 34 countries, including India. The company plans on expanding the provision of IZO to 100 nations by 2016. The company estimates that IZO will bring 25 to 30 per cent savings compared to traditional private technology based Wide Area Network.

For IZO platform, Tata Communications has partnered with over 20 cloud service providers. These include two of the largest cloud platforms – Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. These partnerships also include 50 data centres worldwide, which will provide support in delivering these services.

The IZO platform provides large business houses to jointly use their private IT network along with public network. This follows the requirement of large enterprises, which generally set up their own private network but also require internet access open to general public. The requirement of own network is due to need for high speed access and data security. However, they also require to access internet network open for public for general public where security and transmission speed is unpredictable.
