Kabir Ahmed Shakir, chief financial officer (CFO), Tata Communications has submitted his resignation after more than five years with the company. In a regulatory filing, the company said Shakir will step down on a mutually agreed date, which will be announced in due course. It added that the process to identify his successor is already underway and that a structured transition will be ensured.

During his tenure, Tata Communications accelerated its shift from a conventional telecom carrier to a global comtech company, with increased focus on digital infrastructure, cloud, media and enterprise solutions. Shakir said the leadership team strengthened the firm’s financial position, enhanced customer relevance, and built a more robust compliance and control framework, while surpassing internal performance benchmarks and delivering several first-of-its-kind initiatives.
