According to data released by the National Import Export Record for the Yearly Analysis of Trade (NIRYAT), which functions under the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Tamil Nadu has topped the electronics exports charts with total exports standing at $4.78 billion till October 31, 2023 (April, 2023 – October, 2023). It represents nearly 31 per cent share of India’s total electronics exports for this period which was pegged at $15.48 billion.

NIRYAT noted that the state has reached about 90 per cent of the previous financial year’s (FY) value ($5.37 billion) in a period of seven months of the current FY23-24 (April, 2023 – October, 2023).

Further, Tamil Nadu’s electronics exports during this period are almost double that of Uttar Pradesh which secured the second spot with volumes of $2.58 billion and a 16.65 per cent share of the total electronics exports in the country. Meanwhile, Karnataka stood third with $2.29 billion in volume and 14.82 per cent share.
