
Taiwan-based service provider Chunghwa Telecom is to tie up with Canada-based telecom equipment manufacturer Nortel to develop a range of wireless broadband and network solutions based on Wi-Max technologies. The two companies will develop end-to-end solutions for Wi-Max network operations support systems, performance monitoring systems and application clients. Chunghwa Telecomand Nortel are already jointly involved in projects such as Taiwan Mobile Health Services, which utilise Wi-Max technology to deliver remote medical care. Meanwhile, the company, in collaboration with Microsoft, will start trials for internet protocol television (IPTV) services software in July 2007.
