
Taiwan-based mobile operator Far EasTone (FET) has awarded Ericsson a five-year contract to provide upgrades for its 2G and 3G networks. As per the contract, worth between $93.61 million and $124.81 million, Ericsson will upgrade FET’s core network with IP technology while simultaneously improving its HSPA network, increasing peak download speeds to 21 Mbps. The deal also covers technical and maintenance services.
