The Supreme Court (SC) is expected to pronounce its verdict on the payment timelines of the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues, today.

The AGR dues are calculated to be around Rs 1.6 trillion.

In addition, a bench is also all set to deliver the verdict on the point as to whether spectrum can be sold by the telcos facing proceedings under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) and how the AGR-related dues can be recovered from them.

In October 2019, the SC had delivered the verdict on the AGR issue. Later, in March 2020, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) had moved a plea seeking permission for staggered payment in a time period of nearly 20 years for the telecom companies. Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel have sought 15 years.
