The Supreme Court has rejected a petition filed by Subramanian Swamy, president, Janata Party alleging involvement of P. Chidambaram, Minister of Finance in the 2G spectrum case.

The apex court of the country however, finding no material evidence proving that Chidambaram had received any financial benefit or had misused his position in the allocation of 2G spectrum in 2008, has rejected the petition.

According to the Supreme Court, criminal conspiracy cannot be ascribed merely on a fact that a meeting between officials of department of telecom, A Raja and Chidambaram had taken place. Also the Court pointed out that the mismanagement in 2G spectrum the allocation is not an outcome of criminal conspiracy.
