Sumit Chowdhury has stepped down as the President of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) to start his own venture. Chowdhury had joined RJIL in September 2012 in the capacity of chief information officer (CIO) for a year and then was moved into the business leadership role. As the President, he was responsible for creating the ecosystem of companies that will build solutions on top of RJIL platforms and network to provide enhanced consumer services.
Earlier in January 2015, Sandip Das had stepped down from the position of managing director of RJIL to mentor the sales development for the telecom devices at Reliance Retail.
