Nepal Telecom (NT) has received a lukewarm response to its 15 million share initial public offering (IPO). According to issue manager Citizen Investment Trust, at the end of the month-long deadline that expired on February 26, 2008, the company received applications for shares worth NPR 2,500 million only as against the expected NPR 4,050 million. In the largest ever IPO in the country, NT had offered NPR 100 shares at a premium price of at least NPR 600 each.
