Sterlite Technologies Limited has posted its second quarter and half year results for financial year 2014.

In the first half of financial year 2014, the company registered EBITDA of Rs 1.44 billion over revenues of Rs 14.01 billion, translating into a profitability margin of 10 per cent.

The company?s net income has improved by 120 basis points from Rs 230 million in the first half of financial year 2013 to Rs 350 million in the period under consideration.

The company starts the third quarter of financial year 2014 with an open order book of Rs 25 billion. The second quarter of financial year 2014 accounted for international revenues of Rs 2.70 billion, accounting for 42 per cent of the company?s total revenues.

The company had had a busy year in the telecom segment. It has launched three products in the bend-insensitive, BOW-LITE fiber product portfolio.

That apart, it expanded its global footprint and bagged orders from an African telecommunications company.
