Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) is under discussions with Oriental Insurance Company to provide Rs 100,000 accidental insurance cover to its new data subscribers. The deal is likely to be finalised within a week.
The insurance cover will be provided at no additional cost on the MTS dongle for wireless Internet services, which are available for Rs 1,299 and Rs 1,499. The scheme will be launched across all nine circles including Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (West), Kolkata and West Bengal.
The Insurance policy would become active within seven working days from the date of activation of MTS data dongle and will be valid for one year.
