Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) has announced its unaudited consolidated financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2012.
For the period under consideration, the company posted a 3.8 per cent quarter on quarter increase to Rs 4,072 million and a total wireless subscriber base of 15.82 million.
Non-voice revenues from data and mobile value added services for the quarter increased by 11.5 per cent quarter on quarter to Rs 1,429 million. Non-voice revenues now contribute 35.1 per cent of total revenue, 2.43 pp increase for the quarter. Blended mobile ARPU for the quarter declined by 2.3 per cent to Rs 85.
Meanwhile, the company?s data card subscriber base for the quarter increased by 15 per cent to 1.54 million subscribers. SSTL added 0.21 million data card subscribers during the quarter. The company now offers this service in over 400 towns across India.
Consolidated OIBDA loss for the quarter stands at Rs 3,621 million, a 56 pp improvement over the last quarter.
The CAPEX investments made by SSTL in India at the end of March 2012 stands at Rs 64.74 billion; this includes the investment of Rs 1,213 million made during the first quarter of 2012. Accumulated losses as on March 2012 aggregated to Rs 84.25 billion. Consolidated debt from banks and financial institutions at the end of March 2012 stands at Rs 82.85 billion.
