The Sri Lankan portion of the India Asia Xpress (IAX) subsea cable is now operational, with the landing station located in Matara, in the southern part of the country.
Led by Reliance Jio, the IAX project is supported locally by Dialog Axiata, which manages the Sri Lankan segment. The cable system was initially announced in May 2021 and arrived in Sri Lanka on April 15, 2023.
Further, the IAX cable has landing points in Chennai and Mumbai (India), Morib (Malaysia), Hulhumale (Maldives), Singapore, and Satun (Thailand).
