Spice, in association with NQ Mobile, has introduced a range of Secure Android smartphones for the Indian market.
The handsets have been launched under the Spice Stellar brand and comprise three devices, the Stellar, the Horizon and the Craze.
The Stellar is available immediately and packs in the Android 2.3 operating system, a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen, a 1 GHz Snapdragon Processor and the NetQin Antivirus platform. Other features include a dual camera (5 megapixel and a VGA camera), Wi-Fi tethering facility and support for dual SIM cards. It is priced at Rs 9,999.
Also on the anvil are the Horizon and the Craze devices. The Horizon houses a five inch touchscreen, bundled with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwhich operating system. It packs in a 1 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a dedicated 300 MHz GPU and various security features that guard against viruses, data loss and theft.
The Craze will offer a 3.5 inch touch screen, 800 MHz processor and the Android 2.3 Gingerbread which is upgradable to Android 4.0 ICS. The Spice Stellar Horizon and Spice Stellar Craze will be available by end-June for Rs 11,999 and Rs 6,499 respectively.
