According to M.F. Farooqui, secretary, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), the government is expected to achieve the revenue target of Rs 400 billion from the forthcoming spectrum auctions.
The third round of spectrum auction will start from January 23, 2013. The government has set a total revenue target of Rs 408.74 billion from spectrum auction, including auction amount, one-time spectrum fee and the annual licencing fee.
DoT has already issued the notice inviting application (NIA) for the upcoming auction. As per the timeline mentioned in NIA, interested companies can submit their applications by January 4, 2014. DoT also held a pre-bid conference on December 20, 2013 to discuss the issues raised by industry stakeholders.
