
South Korean telecom operator SK Telecom has decided to invest $1 billion to build a digital content and design centre in China. SK Telecom has reportedly signed a preliminary agreement with the Chinese government to build this digital content and design centre as well as with several of its partner and subsidiary companies, including SK Engineering and Construction, in the south-east part of Beijing. The construction of the centre is expected to commence in the year 2010 and be completed by 2013. The company expects to develop more digital content featuring China-specific cultural characteristics for export to the global market.
