Sony Corporation has launched two new smartphones, Xperia E3 and Xperia E3-Dual, in India at a price of Rs 11,990 and Rs 12,990 respectively. Both the phones have the same specifications, except that Xperia E3-Dual is a dual-SIM smartphone.

The smartphones have a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and are powered by 1.2 GHz quad core qualcomm snapdragon processor. Both the devices operate on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system (OS) and feature 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.

The smartphones feature a 5 megapixel primary camera along with a VGA supported front camera. For connectivity, the devices offer options of 4G, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi, A-GPS with Glonass, USB 2.0, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 3.5mm jack.

One of the new features introduced in Xperia E3 is the ‘shake to start’ app that enables the users to customise shortcuts to access applications by holding the handset and flicking the wrist.
