Snowflake Inc. has appointed Vijayant Rai, former executive director (ED), Microsoft, as its new managing director (MD) for India to drive business growth and go-to-market strategy for Snowflake in the country. Rai takes over from Vimal Venkatram, who has moved to a regional role for Snowflake, based in Singapore.
At Snowflake, Rai will spearhead business expansion across India, oversee strategy, sales, and execution, and drive the adoption of Snowflake’s data cloud across various industries, among other priorities.
Rai has an experience of more than 27 years. Prior to joining Snowflake, he served as the ED for Microsoft India and was the country leader for its banking and financial services segment. Before this, he held leadership roles in Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, and IBM, among others.
