According to Canalys, smartphone shipments in India stood at 50 million units in Q3 2020, recording a growth of 8 per cent.

The report noted that Xiaomi held the top spot with 13.1 million shipments (recording a growth of 9 per cent), followed by Samsung at 10.7 million shipments (recording a growth of 7 per cent). Samsung’s growth during this period was driven by its aggressive product portfolio and pricing strategy.

Meanwhile, Vivo secured the third spot with 8.8 million shipments (recording a growth of 19 per cent), followed by Realme with 8.7 million shipped units, and Oppo with 6.1 million units shipped.
