SK Telecom plans to increase its stake in China Unicom. The South Korea-based company had earlier converted $1 billion worth of China Unicom’s convertible bonds into shares, becoming the second largest shareholder in the Chinese telecom operator with 6.61 per cent stake. In another development, SK Telecom has bid for stake in an unidentified Pakistan-based telecom company, and is now awaiting a reply from the Pakistani firm.
