Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) has registered consolidated net losses of Rs 4.02 billion for the quarter ended June 2014, as against the net loss of Rs 8.44 billion for the quarter ended June 2013. The revenues for the company increased by 15 per cent from Rs 2.90 billion in April-June 2013 to RS 3.34 billion in April-June 2014 mainly due to the rise in data revenues.

The non-voice segment revenues grew by 14 per cent during the quarter ended June 2014 at Rs 1.29 billion along with an increase in the data card subscribers to 1.4 million. Consequently, the segment accounted for 38.6 per cent of the total revenues for the quarter ended June 2014, marking an increase of 3.31 per cent.

The company narrowed its operating income before depreciation and amortisation (OIBDA) loss by 38 per cent from RS 2.19 billion for the quarter ended June 2013 to Rs 1.36 billion for the quarter ended June 2014 on the account of cost optimisation and control on marketing and operational efficiencies. It made investments worth Rs 332 million in April-June 2014 while its net debt as on June 30, 2014 stood at Rs 36.14 billion.
