SingTel Mobile and Ericsson have launched preliminary trials of long term evolution (LTE) mobile technology at the former’s Comcentre headquarters in Singapore. According to the companies, SingTel’s national mobile network’s upgradation to LTE will be completed in phases over the next two years. Commercial deployment of the LTE network will be undertaken in a phased manner, and will depend on the availability of both spectrum and LTE-ready handsets.
