Mark Chong will take charge as group chief technology officer (CTO) of SingTel. He currently serves as group CEO of the Singapore-based company. In his new role, Chong will lead technology strategy and innovations across the group. He has been with the company for over 20 years and has held key leadership positions including executive vice-president, networks, in Singapore and COO of AIS in Thailand. Chong will replace Tay Soo Meng, who will retire by March 2017. He has been associated with the company for almost 50 years and will take on an advisory role post retirement.
In a related development, Arthur Lang will take over Chong’s role as group CEO. He joins SingTel from CapitaLand Limited, where he was group chief financial officer for more than five years. He will join the group in January 2017. The appointments will be effective from April 1, 2017.
