Singtel, the Singapore-based telecom company, has asserted its commitment to the investment in Bharti Airtel. The company further added that its India investment in the telecom major remains a core bet in its international portfolio.

The affirmation by Singtel comes in the backdrop of report suggesting that the Singapore based telco is looking to sell a part of its stake in Airtel back to Sunil Mittal.

Reportedly, some reports cited that Singtel is in talks with Airtel to part sell its holding, which could be worth $1-2 billion. This move could bring down Singtel’s holding by up to 4 per cent.
