Siemens wins a $32 million contract from U-Fone

Siemens AG’s Communications unit has won a $32 million contract from Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited’s (PTML) mobile phone unit U-Fone to extend its GSM network. The project is to be completed by May 2005, and will enable Pakistan’s second largest mobile operator to increase its subscriber base by about 5 million.

In 2003, Siemens Communications won a similar contract worth $26 million to extend PTML’s GSM network.
